Welcome, I am a qualified registered Childminder based in Bonnybridge. I provide a childcare service for babies, toddlers and school aged children. I work from my home and have created a hygge nurturing environment. I also embrace the natural outdoors and go on many outings and adventures with the children.
My background and qualifications
I live in Bonnybridge with my partner Steven and our three grown up daughters. I have been registered as a childminder since 2007 and have completed my SVQ Childcare qualification and Forest Kindergarten training. Prior to this I qualified and worked as an Occupational Therapist. My passion is being creative. I love the challenge and experience of trying new things including art and crafty projects both with the children and within my spare time. I am also very much an outdoorsy person and enjoy going for nature walks. I especially like sunny, blue sky but frosty winters mornings.
Service I provide...
I accommodate families childcare needs by offering part time and full time spaces, before / after school and school holiday cover, for children of all ages. I am based in Bonnybridge and work in partnership with Falkirk Council. I offer government funded hours for 3 and 4 year old's and eligible 2 year old's. As well as taking on funded children full time, I also do blended care with local nurseries. My adult to pre-school child ratio is 1: 3 ensuring quality responsive care and the ability to offer true opportunities for child led play and developing themes. I promote SHANARRI Wellbeing Indicators, GIRFEC and the early years Curriculum for Excellence to promote nurturing childcare offering lots of individual care and support ensuring child led pedagogy.
My Hygge Home...
Within my home I aim to create a warm cosy, relaxed atmosphere. I have a toyroom decorated in muted colours with plants, fairy lights and lots of natural light. I have an eclectic collection of natural, traditional and modern toys and resources. loose part play, small world figures, books, dolls, cars, STEM and educational resources. I particularly love hand knitted items and have a few hand knitted and crochet blankets, cakes and dolls for children to play with. We often do hygge activities such as tea parties, art and crafts and baking which brings us all together and enjoy each others company. We often develop themes and projects initiated by the children. Examples of this include; building a light box theatre out of card board and making moveable puppets. The children of all ages joined in developing story lines, more props and worked together as a team to put shows together. Another project which captured the children's imagination and grow was making a dinosaur scene with rocks and pretend plants with a volcano. The volcano then developed into a science experiment with baking soda and vinegar and the children worked at perfecting the most bubbly firey volcano adding orange and red paint.
Outdoor adventures...
I consider myself an 'Outdoorsy' Childminder! If the weather is good, (and even not so good!), then we are out on an adventure! Having good appropriate clothing is important. We visit a variety of places including forests, parks, green spaces as well as community resources. As well as using natures natural landscapes and ecosystems for exploring and learning, I sometimes bring carefully selected resources from home which enhance curriculum learning, physical development, nature education and rich community based experiences.

In 2018 I gained my Forest Kindergarten qualification. I completed this, so that through my childminding service, I could enhance the quality and variety of the early years natural outdoor experience for children. I regularly meet up outdoors with other like-minded childminders and together we explore and experience an abundance of nature's treasures! The children benefit hugely from this as they are continuing to learn and develop whilst following the curriculum and make firm friendships with different peers.

Iwould highly recommend Lynnette to any parent looking for an excellent childminder. My two children have been with Lynnete for over two years and they have loved going and enjoyed many days out with Lynnette to the beach, airport, parks, boats and loads of great outdoor and indoor activities. Lynnette has been looking after my two boys for a few years now and they love going there. It really is like a second home to them and they feel so comfortable and welcome. Lynnette always has projects and topics for the children to take part in and makes sure all kids are included at an age appropriate level, difficult when dealing with a variety of ages and stages but she makes it look easy. She takes the children on lots of outings, during the holidays they are rarely in. Even when they are at home she has a great outdoor space and encourages the children to play outside with some of the many toys and games she provides. She sends messages most days with pictures of what they've been up to, they're lovely to receive and know your children are having a great time. She is a very calm and nurturing person, will always take time to chat with the children and talk to them about their day. She really cares about all her mindees, this is more than just a job to her so it makes going to work and leaving your kids with her that much easier.

I would highly recommend Lynnette to anyone looking for childcare. My daughter had just turned one when I had to go back to work. We both suffered from separation anxiety, however Lynnette reassured us in her lovely calm manner and made the transition easier than I'd feared, with lots of updates and photos of my wee one visiting great groups and place, all smiling and happy. I feel secure that my daughter is very well cared for and nurtured and always has fun. She's now three and a half and loves going to Lynnette's!
